They're not courting men; they're abusing men. I think there is a difference between targeting men and using men. There are no policies designed to help men and there is no intention to do so. In fact, the Harris/Biden administration is returning to Title IX rules that will disproportionately discriminate against men. The real battle the Dems are having is with masculinity, which is the problem. Masculinity is a social construct that they want to re-engineer as opposed to looking at the male, the biological realities that make them tick. Is it any wonder males live shorter lives, die of deaths of despair at 3 or 4 to 1, or that their educational attainment is much less? Is it a coincidence that there is billions spent on a new center to help women with addiction but not men?
Thanks for the comment, and I share many of your frustrations. You make very good points about Title IX, deaths of despair, educational attainment, etc. It's shocking that male social issues seem to be a "third rail" for Democrats. It may well cost them in November. By the way, what is the addiction center for women only, I'm not aware of that.
I could never vote for Trump. He is a narcissistic sociopath trying to turn us into his dictatorship. But I can see why men might vote for him, just because of the Dems seeming hatred of men. I agree with everything Sean Kullman said. I would like to add that the Dems ad "Be a Man, And Vote For A Woman" is offensive to me. Anytime I see "Be a man," I know I am being shamed. My manhood is being shamed. Is this all the Democrats have for men? This ad shows complete disrespect for men, for their intelligence, for their dignity, and their self-respect. Is this what we can expect from a Harris Presidency?
Thanks for sharing your perspective. Yes, it's the Lincoln Project. And I hear what you are saying -- as I mentioned in the post, there is nothing about men's lower life expectancy other legitimate concerns. However, it's pretty much the only messaging directed at men. So, at the very least, it's recognizing the importance of men as a voting bloc.
I feel like this is having a similar effect as the 2020 spot -- a lot of people really didn't like that one. But I think this one, like the previous one, is directed at a small of leaning Dems or undecideds, and it's trying to get their vote. Will it work? Hard to tell.
"Be a man and vote for a woman" will absolutely have the opposite effect. First "don't tell me what to do" mindset. Second questioning one's masculinity because they don't do what you tell them is insulting and patronizing. And third, it reeks of "vote for her just because she's a woman", and is as empty as "I'm with her".
Dear Jose, Thanks for your comment. And just to be clear, I'm not telling men to do that, I'm quoting the commercial which is relevant because it's one of the few that's actually directed at men. In most elections, men aren't even brought up as a voting bloc. I was appreciative that they even acknowledged men at all. However, the response to the ad from The Lincoln Project, specifically that line, has been mostly negative, so you're not alone. I've since seen a couple of similar ads with similar messages, and I don't believe they are effective.

Whoops! My bad. The ad is from the Lincoln Project, not the Dems. But my comments still stand.
