A lifelong Democrat, I left the party around five or six years ago, significantly for the reasons you discuss here. Since then I've gone back and forth between Decline to State and registering with a new third party trying to find space in the middle (Common Sense Party). The Democratic Party, much like the GOP, has been taken over by his extreme wing. It no longer really represents me, so I'm not a member anymore. But I still vote Democratic since the GOP has gone even further in the other direction and holds absolutely nothing for me.
Thanks for your comment, and I appreciate your insights. I'm not familiar with the Common Sense Party, but I'm going to look into that. I am curious how much traction they are gaining.
I get emails from them. But I don’t know if they’ve got enough registered voters to officially qualify. They started up right at the beginning of COVID, which put a serious damper on the registration efforts.
I used to be in a similar place to you so I sympathize. I concluded that yours is the wrong path.
You say the Democrats aren't paying attention to men, but that's not true. Men are very much on the agenda, it's just that they hate us. How could you not notice?
This is not your Daddy's Democratic party. All those things that atracted you to the Democrats, are opposed by them now. If you are support equality, free speech & compassion look elsewhere.
Thanks for the comment Tony, and I in many ways share your frustration. As I have delved into the Democratic Party agenda, I have seen that some things do in fact line up with male well-being, however, the party doesn't frame them as good for men. For instance:
1. Democrats have long pushed for various forms of universal healthcare; though it hasn't been achieved, this would help men as they are significantly less likely than women to have healthcare coverage (one of the reasons women live 5.9 longer than men)
2. Environmental issues -- estrogenic chemicals are polluting our water and food, which is having especially bad effects on men; Democrats at least attempt to press for better environmental regulations.
But the failure of the Democrats to openly acknowledge male gender issues has led to a lot of men leaving the party, so I'm not surprised at all by your conclusion. You are not alone.

Hmm.
A civil dialogue.
I don't think the idea will catch on.
