KALW: The missing men of the Democratic Party
My interview on KALW, NPR's San Francisco affiliate with host Angie Coiro
Veteran radio journalist Angie Coiro hosts “Book It,” a series featuring San Francisco Bay Area authors on San Francisco’s NPR affiliate, KALW—91.7 FM. I was highly honored to be invited to come to the studio and discuss my book How Democrats Can Win Back Men and the reasons why Democrats have been losing among men for over four decades. A 15-minute edited version of the interview aired as a segment on the daily news program “Crosscurrents,” and the full hour-long interview will be available as a podcast.
A New Strategy
The Democrats, who lost among men by 12% in 2024 according to presidential exit polls, have now lost The White House, Senate, House of Representatives, and Supreme Court. Isn’t it time for a change of strategy? Among other points, I emphasized the need for the next leadership team at the DNC to understand and appeal to male voters.
I will share the link to the full hour-long interview when it becomes available. About Crosscurrents on KALW:
Thank you and Happy Holidays
I am so grateful to so many people for their support and encouragement this past year. One year ago, my book was a Google Doc draft. Since then, I completed the book, published it on Amazon, and then revised and republished the book after Biden dropped out and passed the baton to Harris.
I visited with people in the political sphere, attended the progressive conference Netroots Nation in Baltimore, and hosted a book launch at Manny’s in San Francisco. I’ve spoken at events, on podcasts from around the world, and on the radio. None of this would have been possible without the support and input of many people — thank you!
I look forward to continuing my work in the new year!
Thanks for reading and wishing you and your loved ones a happy and healthy 2025!
