"Don't forget men" Democrat advises
A veteran of the Hillary Clinton 2016 Campaign has a message for Democrats, my interview on The Many Shades of Green, and other updates from an exciting week
Last week was again action-packed! I received two new speaker invitations and conducted another podcast interview. In campaign news, the “White Dudes for Harris” call raised over $4 million and a Trump-supporting organization announced a $20 million goal toward appealing to young men. Meanwhile, a veteran of the Hillary Clinton campaign urged Dems: “Don’t forget men.” As polling numbers are starting to trend Democrat, it’s hard to believe how quickly the sands have shifted in the 2024 election.
“Many Shades of Green” Interview: The Environment, Democrats, and Men
During my interview on The Many Shades of Green Podcast, host Maxine Margo Rubin, co-host Malcolm Burman, and I discussed the election, the recent White Dudes for Harris call, and my book. Max shared an important quote from a veteran of the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign. In an article in USA Today, Carol Evans, the “founder of Executive Women 4 Hillary in 2016 and the co-founder of 100 Days 4 Harris in North Carolina,” was asked about advice for the Harris campaign given her experience in 2016. She said, “Don’t forget about men.” She continued, “Invite, welcome and get the men involved.” This is an important message, and I would add that Democrats should also keep them involved when writing the 2024 Democratic Party Platform and in overall messaging — it’s got to go both ways.

The Many Shades of Green Podcast focuses on all things environmental, and among other topics, we discussed how poisons in our environment are ruining human health including fertility issues for both men and women. This issue is not being discussed by either major party. However, Democrats tend to have more environmentally friendly policies.
Max is a friend and former colleague of mine from the Air America Radio days, so it was a pleasure to reconnect. Thanks, Max and I hope to join you and Malcolm again soon! You can subscribe to the podcast on your favorite platform, and here is a link to the episode page.
Two New Speaker Invitations
I’ve been invited to speak on two occasions in September:
On September 9, I will be speaking at the California State Capitol Rose Garden in Sacramento as part of an event about false convictions sponsored by Advocates for the Falsely Accused. The event takes place from 11am-3pm and is open to the public.
I’ve been invited to speak at the Belvedere Tiburon Library on September 17 from 6:00-7:30pm about my book How Democrats Can Win Back Men. The event is free and open to the public. Thank you to Program Director Milos Petrovic for the invitation.
New Push on the Right for Young Male Voters
After the recent emergence of independent groups Win With Black Men and White Dudes for Harris on the Democratic side, Republicans have also seen some external support regarding men. Thanks to a reader from Virginia for sharing this article from the Wall Street Journal highlighting a voter registration initiative called Send the Vote which launched last Friday on the “Full Send” podcast. Although Send the Vote is technically a non-partisan nonprofit, it was co-founded by “Taylor Budowich, who oversees the primary super PAC supporting Trump, MAGA Inc.,” according to the WSJ article. The organization will target events such as UFC competitions in nine competitive states. As I have been advising Democrats to do for years, the Republicans are campaigning directly to young men in the swing states. Democrats — take note.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased my book. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to leave a review on Amazon as that helps with the rankings!
